This is our latest handmade bespoke bedroom furniture project recently completed in Ipswich, including custom made wardrobes, bedside tables, desk and headboard. We led our clients through our design process collecting ideas and schemes they were after achieving that perfect design for them. Moving onto building the furniture in our onsite workshop by our very talented craftsmen. Finishing with our installation team fitting all the furniture and completing the lighting and electrical work, plumbing, plastering and hand painting of the furniture.
Our client came to us looking for a handmade bespoke wardrobe with lots of storage including hanging rails, shelving and drawers. All in a traditional style which is simplistic but also a style which would never age and would fit perfectly within the house for many years to come.
This is a beautiful example of our inset framed hand painted furniture. Including beading on the frame adding just that little bit of extra detailing. The centre part of this wardrobe has been stepped forward giving the client extra storage and adding the opportunity for us to show off our flare for detailing. It is finished perfectly with curved radius columns to make this stretch of wardrobes flow continuously with no harsh lines or sharp corners.
The far-left double wardrobe is split by a stable door, three quarters from the top which still includes full length storage with illuminated hanging rails and the bottom quarter is attached to a two drawer bedside table. These include the same design detailing of a curved radius corner on the outer side of both pieces. They are both paired with a beautiful piece of solid oak worktop which sets off the Little Greene ‘Flint’ paint.
To keep all the furniture matching we also designed and handmade the headboard. This has the same detailing of a shaker style continuing the beading running along the frame work. This oak matches the solid oak on the worktops keeping the whole room in keeping with the original design ideas.
At the foot of the bed and on the opposite wall is a wall hung framed mirror and dressing table including the same solid oak worktop with a knee hole where our client can sit with three soft close drawers either side of them to give them extra storage.
To finish off the furniture we used a pewter handle in the style Twist. We used the long portrait styles for the doors and the pointed knobs for all the drawers. These dark pewter handles compliment the Little Greene paint and adds that extra element into the design and drawers together the whole look.
